Voip – The Decision Of Practical Entrepreneurs

Oct 26, 2008 in Technology and Gadgets

Many businesses are looking for VOIP. This article will discuss some of the basics.

Communication is undoubtedly one of the essential parts of putting up a successful business venture. You need to have an effective communication channel within the walls of your internal business organization to facilitate the harmonious relationship among various functions of your organization, which is vital in terms of favorable delivery of products and services to the clients you are catering to.

Also, aside from the internal communication matters of your business venture, you also have to satisfy good communication channel outside the walls of your organization, particularly with your suppliers, business partners and associates, and your clientele to establish your business as one of the successful entrepreneurial organizations in the business world. Thus, you cannot take for granted the capability of communication in making your business venture a success.

Now that you know the importance of communication in an enterprise, you wonder how you can create such an enviable system. The answer lies in choosing the right platform for your telecommunication needs. Telephones, mobile phones, fax machines, the Internet are systems and machines ever-present in offices across the globe.

A few years ago, a new phone system has been gaining the attention of entrepreneurs everywhere. The VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), a sophisticated, highly efficient and cost effective tool of phone communications is now the current rage among business people who are looking to streamline their expenses without compromising quality.

Just like your regular telephone, but…

VoIP works like your regular phone and mobile phone units, only it relies on high-speed broadband Internet connection in transmitting and receiving data (voice, in this case). The wider coverage of Internet nowadays as well as the reliability of the system in terms of transmitting data makes VoIP a practical choice for entrepreneurs.

What seals the deal for business people is the fact that VoIP is probably one of the most cost-effective business communication solutions available today. Most VoIP service providers charge voice call rates at costs 40 to 60 percent lower than the traditional voice calls.

This means that if you are maintaining five different telephone lines and your average bill for each line is about $300, you save as much as $180 for each VoIP connection. Some service providers do not even charge you anything.

Other benefits of VoIP system:

It contains built-in functions useful for your communication needs, such as voice mail, call routing, and call waiting. Most of these call features are also available in regular telephone lines but with additional cost. With the VoIP package, these are offered for free.

VOIP services is flexible, giving you the power to adjust the system as the need arises. For instance, if you need more VoIP lines, you do not have to reapply for another line (which is the case with telephone and mobile phone lines). Instead, you only need to upgrade your existing VoIP subscription for a minimal cost.

VoIP is not just a simple product. It is an effective business communication solution to maintain harmonious relationship within and outside the walls of your corporate organization. You will not regret-instead, you will be thankful you have a VoIP as your primary communication tool for your business venture.

Residential Voip – Good For You

Oct 18, 2008 in Technology and Gadgets, VOIP News

VOIP (voice over internet protocol) is one of the most recent technological changes in communications, and it is being adopted at an amazing rate. If you are new to VoIPor have no idea what it is, in basic terms it is the capacity to make telephone calls over your broadband connection.

One of the chief points of VoIP that is talked of is the lower long distance and overseas call fees. Those call costs can really add up particularly if you make a lot of calls for your business and many VOIP carriers provide attractive long distance rates.

Long distance call savings are a chief advantage of VOIP, but they’re not the only advantage, by far.

An area where VoIP has a real advantage is that most residential VOIP phone service providers often let you use your existing phones. You won’t need to buy a new phone, as you do when changing cell phone providers. This may not be a key consideration for everyone, but it is important to think about how you’ll be using your VOIP residential phone
service and to take into consideration the usefulness of keeping your telephones.

If you run a business from home, and receive a lot of calls, you’ll enjoy the voicemail features many VOIP service providers offer. Many of them will email you when you receive a voicemail message and allow you to retrieve your messages online. This is a versatile feature for those don’t want to be answering the phone all the time. It allows us to quickly check our messages without interrupting our work flow.

An often heard question prospective VOIP users ask is, “How’s the sound quality?” This is a sensible question and an important one. Since VoIP is a new technology, the very idea of sending voice over the Internet raises some questions about how it works. Most VOIP service providers connections have excellent sound quality. Businesses have been using VOIP for quite some time now and continue to use it – so the sound has to be good.

Fortunately, the sound quality of the VOIP residential phone does not seem to degrade when used in the home and the majority of residential VoIP customers are content with the quality of their phone calls.

Finally, VOIP offers a wide choice in VOIP service providers, which is very significant to a lot of people who have been disgruntled with the level of service and support (or lack there of) offered by their current telephone company.

While the smaller, friendlier phone companies are now offering a residential service, many VOIP users switch to VOIP service providers in part so that they could work with a different phone company and avoid the bother their analog phone provider caused.

VOIP is a wonderful option for many home phone users because of the cost savings, ability to use your own phone, call features and sound quality. Plus many people find working with more supportive companies much easier.

Overall, it is obvious that there are many positive aspects of a VOIP telephone service. At the beginning of 2007 it is reported that 9% of households in the US use VOIP, and I am sure this number will continue to increase as more people learn of its benefits.
