A Beginner’s Guide to Business VOIP PBX
Now more than ever traveling around the world has become frequent and commonplace, and although it’s painful the best way to communicate with loved ones is on skype. Although it’s a very new technology, speaking to your loved ones online has become a growing and fast medium of communication.
But, there may be something to the concept. VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone service has been growing in leaps and bounds over the past few years, and is poised to take over both the business and consumer markets. Perhaps with more knowledge of the benefits of Business VOIP System, you too will chuck the tradition phone and opt for online communication.
The key reason that individuals and businesses choose to use Hosted PBX is due to the opportunity to cut costs. The biggest way it’s cheaper is the absence of a need to buy new equipment- whatever you need is something you probably already have. For businesses, the costs aren’t quite so nonexistent, but they are easily minimized, as many VoIP features can be controlled from the computers and through the Internet connection they already have. What’s more, a VoIP service runs off of the Internet connection you already have, so the need to pay for minutes, long distance service and the like falls away. The only connection cost is the Internet service you’re already paying for!
In addition to the cost-saving factor, hosted PBX has tons of extra functions. In opposition to just speaking over the phone, speaking using an internet-based phone service adds an element of dynamic interaction not possible with ‘old school’ phones.
Video is one key additional element. Imagining a large-scale land-line telephone provider including video in their service is still the stuff of science fiction. Thanks to hosted PBX, it is possible to engage in live video conversation just by plugging a camera into you laptop or computer. Another of the features which VoIP makes very simple is calls between a multitude of users, a challenge which requires a great deal of effort on a traditional phone service, but which is only a few clicks away on a digital VoIP service.
A Business VOIP Provider will provide many ways and options with which one can personalize the user experience. Most telephone users may not opt to use most the the added features available with a VOIP system but businesses will be pleasantly surprised by all the added benefits of a business voip system. VoIP systems can be tailored and scaled to the needs of the user, and, in fact, there are an increasing number of VoIP providers catering directly to small business needs. Additionally, given its digital format, an Internet-based telephone service can be modified and enhanced with a growing set of applications designed to enhance the experience, whether from an individual, or a business perspective.
I am in no position to say ‘throw all traditional phones’ out the window (despite that fact that I don’t even own a traditional land-line). Security remains an issue, as with many Internet-based forms of communication. Additionally, the very think that makes VoIP so cost-effective can also be the thing that makes it not work for some businesses . Sharing the connection with your standard Internet service, connection speed can make or break your VoIP capability.
Despite these challenges, hosted PBX services are becoming an increasingly desirable asset for businesses and individuals alike. If trends continue, we may all find ourselves logging on for all of our conversations.
